Anytime something that doesn't originate from Louisiana mentions the word "cajun," our entire state collectively cranes its neck to get a closer look.

In this case, it would actually be Louisiana having to get a better taste as the new BTS meal at McDonald's features a "cajun" dipping sauce in their latest major brand collaboration.

Just like previous collabs with artists like Travis Scott and J Balvin, the BTS meal features the boy band's favorite Mickey D's food combo: A 10-piece nugget, fries, medium coke along with sweet chili and cajun dipping sauce.

These sauces are limited and honestly, they are the only thing that makes this BTS "meal" anything different than your regular 10-piece combo but the internet still had plenty of hot takes—especially when it came to the cajun dipping sauce.

Some people absolutely loved it.

For others, not so much.

So, how does it taste? Well, I snagged a combo and I can tell you that it didn't taste like the mayo-ketchup collab that I thought I would taste when I dipped my first nugget.

Instead, it was almost exactly what someone described above: a honey mustard taste with a little bit of kick on the end, but not something I would necessarily say was "spicy." All in all, it was good—but it was hard to identify what made it "cajun."

By the way, I didn't get the sweet chili (they gave me hot buffalo???) but I've heard good reviews.

Does the new "cajun" sauce at McDonald's pass the "cajun" test for you? I'm curious to know, so snag one next time you drive through and tell me what you think about it.
