Former North Webster and LSU standout Devin White was making his NFL prime time debut tonight, as his Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the Carolina Panthers on Thursday Night Football. The #5 overall pick in this year's NFL Draft has been set up to be a big part of the Bucs defense this year. He's been designated as the defensive play caller, and wears the specialized helmet that communicates with the sideline (there's only one player with that helmet on the field at a time).

But tonight, White was forced out of the game in the 1st quarter.

Some of the good news was that White made an attempt to return to the game. There was a weather delay around the same time White was hurt, so it gave him time to work with the medical staff, and attempt a knee brace. He wasn't able to go with the brace on, so he was ruled out. But the fact he was able to attempt a return to the field would generally indicate that there's no major damage to White's knee.
