Several local leaders gathered out at Camp Minden to get a look at the plan for getting rid of millions of pounds of M6 propellant.

The pellets are being stored in underground bunkers and all of it will ultimately be destroyed in a Clean Burning Igniter. Much of the construction work on the site is proceeding on time.

Area Mayors, State Representatives and Senators along with many others gathered at the site to take a tour through the area containing volatile bunkers. They were taken to an active construction site where the contained burn system is being built.

“I am very satisfied that this disposal method will be safe," Brian Salvatore, an LSUS professor told KEEL News said. We asked Salvatore what residents will see and hear when this process begins. He says "you won't see or smell anything while this burn takes place. This will be safe."
