As summer approaches we're looking forward to lots of time spent outdoors, but in the shadows lurk blood sucking creatures looking to attack... I'm talking about mosquitos and ticks! While they maybe small, their bites can not only cause irritation but also sickness and sometimes worse. CNN reports that CDC records show that there were 27,388 cases in 2004, increasing to 96,075 cases reported in 2016 including Lyme disease, West Nile virus and Zika virus!

These insects are seen around in more seasons than just during the summer, so it's important to protect yourself when outdoors. Wear long pants, bug repellent and avoiding high grass are just a few ways to help, but honestly there's no way to completely avoid them when outdoors.

Luckily, we live an area where there's not many of the pests to worry about... Oh, wait, never mind!
