Through Children's Miracle Network, programs like the Cara Center are there for children when no one else is.

The majority of kids experience love and joy in every aspect of their childhood. However, there are some children who don't have the same experiences. Some suffer from abuse or neglect.

The Cara Center at Christus Health Shreveport-Bossier is the answer for these children. In a partnership with Louisiana State University Health Center, the center is available through all aspects of this sad reality. The expert staff at the Cara center can diagnose, manage and even prevent cases of child abuse and neglect. For victims of this behavior, the Cara Center is equipped to provide medical care as well as aftercare.

Here's what Program Director, Bobby Cox had to say about the Cara Center:

A partnership with Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. Its primary purpose is to provide medical care for suspected child abuse and to provide follow-up services such as counseling for the child and family. The staff also assists with law enforcement and court proceedings always working on behalf of what is best for the child involved. In the 2014 Fiscal Year, the Cara Center served approximately 600 clients.

It's because of the Cara Center that children have found healing, both emotionally and physically. And it's because of Children's Miracle Network that a program like this exists in Shreveport-Bossier.

On March 26 and 27 we're going to ask you to open your heart and your wallet for programs like the Cara Center.
