City CAO Leaves Tyler Administration Early
Brian Crawford, the Chief Administrative Officer for the city of Shreveport, has resigned. Crawford submitted his resignation letter to Mayor Ollie Tyler on November 21st, saying his last day would be December 9th, the day after the run off election. Mayor Tyler, for reasons unknown, kept this information and Crawford's resignation letter to herself until Monday afternoon when reports of Crawford not being at Monday's staff meeting started surfacing.
Mayor Tyler says Crawford was offered a new job and took it. And, according to KTBS, had Mayor Tyler been re-elected, Crawford had no intentions to be apart of her administration moving forward. KEEL received anonymous reports that Crawford has already left town to start his new career.
Mayor-elect Adrian Perkins will be inaugurated as new mayor December 29th. He told us on Monday that it is too early in the process for him to name who his CAO or other top officials will be. Perkins said that it is very important to him that he surrounds himself with the right people.
