Corporal Punishment Bill Fails
A bill that would have banned spankings and corporal punishment in Louisiana schools failed in the House of Representatives. The controversial bill that was introduced and pushed by Shreveport State Rep Barbara Norton was voted down 61 to 34.
While Louisiana remains one of a few states that allows corporal punishment in schools, parents can opt out of the practice.
