Craig Morgan is more than just a country singer. Although he’s a mega-talented star, Morgan also served in the U.S. Army for 10 years, worked as a police officer and served a short stint as a Walmart employee. Today (July 13), the ‘Corn Star‘ hitmaker got to talk about his busy schedule and rocking country tunes — and his hit new record ‘This Ole Boy’ — on Fox’s morning show ‘Fox & Friends.’

While the media likes to focus on Morgan’s service to our country (and rightfully so) the country singer was more eager to chat about his new record with his ‘Friends.’

“I’m more proud of this than anything I’ve ever done,” he said. “I even made the comment that it may be the best record that I ever make.”

From there, the country boy and his band launched into a rocking performance of his latest single ‘Corn Star’ to give the audience a preview of just how great his latest album is. After spending several minutes on ‘Fox & Friends,’ the veteran country hitmaker appeared on ‘The After Show Show’ to play another song, ‘What Matters Most.’

Morgan is never shy about supporting our troops. As a soldier-turned-veteran, it seems that the singer has made it his mission to thank our service men and women through song. Today, the country crooner took his patriotism to a national audience.

Before he played an emotional rendition of the popular tune, Morgan chatted with anchor of ‘The After Show Show’ about writing a song for Folds of Honor, a charitable organization that raises scholarship money for dependents of fallen soldiers.

“I started writing this song called ‘Within the Folds.’ It talked about the flag and the folding of the flag,” Morgan explained on ‘The After Show Show.’ “But the organization raises money for dependents of fallen soldiers, so that they can provide them with scholarships. About halfway through [writing the] the song, I realized I was writing the wrong song. Because what matters most is these kids.”

Even though Morgan played two live performances on Friday the 13th, he didn’t let the superstitious date get to him. A big crowd hooted and hollered throughout both of his performances.
