Delta Downs Thoroughbred Season Starts This Tuesday Oct. 8

You can bring out the kids to see the horses too!

The season kicks off this Tuesday, October 8th, 2019.  They will race five days next week before to their regular four day a week schedule the following week.

The season lasts 84 days and wraps up on February 29th, 2020.  Post times are set for 4:55 pm Wednesdays through Saturdays.

According to track announcer Don Stevens,

The richest program of the year will happen on Saturday, February 8 when the track hosts another edition of Louisiana Premier Night. The exciting card will feature some of the best Louisiana-breds competing in 10 stakes races worth total purse money of $895,000. The headliner on Louisiana Premier Night is the $150,000 Louisiana Premier Night Championship for 4-year-olds and up competing at 1-1/16 miles.
