Demi Lovato, who was hospitalized in July after a reported drug overdose, will finally leave the hospital later this week and immediately enter a treatment program in a rehab facility, according to TMZ. Lovato was six years sober leading up to her relapse.

The site says that Lovato's family members delayed bringing up the topic for days while the singer recovered from complications, noting "Demi was very sick and her family did not want to upset her with something that might trigger conflict."

TMZ adds that Lovato will leave the hospital "any day now," but it's not yet clear where Lovato will seek treatment, or even if the facility is in California.

The news comes a day after TMZ reported that Lovato's team planned to sever ties with her if she decided against treatment. And, a week ago, TMZ reported that Lovato's overdose — and the relapse that preceded it — were the result of failed intervention attempts by her team.

"We're told the intervention attempt was not successful — Demi refused and continued to party, instead," TMZ reported. "Other sources tell us she tried to make it seem like everything was okay, but her struggle became obvious shortly before [the] overdose."

Lovato's family released a statement in July that thanked fans for supporting the star.

"Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now," the statement read.
