Recently she's played Superman's mom and Richard Gere's wife. but now actress Diane Lane is taking on maybe her most challenging role of all, as former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

'Hillary', a four hour mini-series, will run on NBC during the summer of 2016, perhaps not so coincidentally, when many think Mrs. Clinton's Presidential campaign will be in high gear.

'98 to now

According to NBC executives, 'Hillary' will begin in 1998 during her husband's second term and continue to present day.'

'It will recount her life as wife, mother and politician', said the peacock network's Bob Greenblatt. 'We think she is one of the most fascinating women of our time and in the world.'

Hillary biopics abound

'Hillary' joins another biopic already in the works about the former First Lady. 'Rodham' will focus on her life in the early 1970s, just as she was launching her legal career and dating her law school boyfriend, Bill Clinton. That role is yet to be cast, although Reese Witherspoon and Scarlett Johansson are rumored to be under consideration.
