It’s Double ‘Doctor Who’ in First Clip From Peter Capaldi’s Final Episode
No Doctor Who fan is ready to say goodbye to Peter Capaldi, though we’ll thankfully have no less than three Doctors to help him off. See One meet Twelve in a first clip from 2017 Christmas special “Twice Upon a Time,” and feel free to add your own TARDIS design critique.
The BBC shared a first clip from the December 25 episode, which sees Game of Thrones star David Bradley semi-reprising his role as the first Doctor (Bradley previously portrayed actor William Hartnell portraying the character). Along for the ride is series writer Mark Gatiss as a World War I soldier disheartened to learn about its sequel.
The first trailer also revealed that Pearl Mackie will reprise her role as Bill, though it remains to be seen if she’ll stay on for any part of Jodie Whittaker’s tenure in 2018. Season 11 will premiere in spring 2018 under new showrunner Chris Chibnall, replacing the departed Steven Moffat.
“Twice Upon a Time” will theoretically introduce us to Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteen as part of Capaldi’s regeneration scene, and we may even see a trailer for the 2018 season as well. Watch the full “Twice Upon a Time” trailer below, and stay tuned for more on Capaldi’s Doctor Who sendoff.
