Elton John Calls Madonna a ‘Fairground Stripper’ and Says her Career is Over

In an interview with Australia's Channel 7 show "Sunday Night" Elton John said some really harsh things about Madonna. Could he be still harboring a grudge over her win in the Best Original Song category for the Golden Globes this year?

Elton John didn't hold any punches in how he felt about Madonna. He said in the interview "Why is she such a nightmare? Her career is over, I can tell you that. Her tour has been a disaster and it couldn't happen to a bigger [expletive]."

He made comments that she should have stayed away from dance music for her last album, but should have made a pop record like she did with "Ray of Light." Nothing against Madonna, but I kind of have to agree with Elton on this one.  However, that is where I stop agreeing with Elton John.

Where I draw the line of what he said about Madonna is when he said, "And she looks like a [expletive] fairground stripper." He didn't keep his comments related to just her music and appearance. Elton also chimed in on the Madonna-Lady Gaga feud. "She's been so horrible to (Lady) Gaga." He takes Lady Gaga's side because she is godmother to his son, Zachary.

So far Madonna hasn't lashed out in retaliation for Elton John's remotes, but she's got a huge world tour on her hand. I hope she keeps her cool and doesn't raise to the bait.
