Escapee Is on the Run in the Shreveport Region

An inmate escaped from custody in Red River Parish on Thursday. 43-year-old Ranson Thomas walked away from a work detail at about 6:30 in the morning. He was a trustee and had been working with a crew at a site along highway 371 in Coushatta when he bolted.

Thomas is described as six feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He's bald with a salt and pepper beard. He ran off wearing a green camouflage floppy hat, jeans and a grey sweatshirt over his inmate shirt that read RRPJ Inmate Worker.
