Faces in the Crowd: Hot Wheels Bossier Adult Skate Night September 2020
Getting the chance to relive your childhood as an adult can be a blast and Hot Wheels Bossier has the magic formula!
I think we're all more nostalgic than usual given everything that has already happened in 2020 and Friday night, Hot Wheels gave us the chance to revisit evenings spent with friends jamming out to our favorite music while circling the skating rink floor endlessly between trips to the concession stand.
I'll admit, I was a little bit skeptical when I first heard about the event during their first attempt at an adult skate night last month thinking it sounded like the beginning of an expensive ER visit, but it was an absolute blast.
When we pulled into the parking lot, we were greeted by party-goers in costume. Goodness knows we like to dress up in Louisiana and there was a cash prize for the best 'Nerd' costume. They also had food trucks and karaoke out front. When you entered, you found a nicely remodeled rink with lots of bright colors and a ton more people posing for pictures, skating, socializing, and jamming out to the band, The Hollow Decks. In between sets, our very own Jay Whatley was the DJ and he also hosted races just like we had when we were kids and the costume contest. They even had a professional photo booth. It was a lot of fun!
I didn't get to skate because I had some abrasions from an igmo accident earlier in the week, but I can promise you, I'll be strapping on some skates for the next adult skate night. Hot Wheels' Facebook page promises details on the next 21+ night soon! Even not skating, I had a great time. It was great people watching. Almost like watching Nascar for the wrecks!
Check out pictures from Friday and I can promise you when they make plans to do this again, I'll make sure to help spread the word:)
