Former Dallas Cowboy tight end Jason Witten gave us a whole lot of football during his time with the NFL.  After spending 17 years on the gridiron (in addition to the time he spent playing for the University of Tennessee, and the countless high school games before that), one might think that Mr. Witten has had his fill of fiddling with the pigskin.  However, one would be mistaken.

According to Yahoo News, the man they refer to as "The Judge" on the football field has traded in his helmet for a clipboard.  Jason Witten has reportedly accepted the head coach position at Liberty Christian School in Argyle, Texas.  Why didn't he try to coach in the NFL?  Simple - he didn't want to.  The all-time Cowboy reception record holder and 11-time Pro Bowler reportedly passed on numerous coaching jobs at the pro and collegiate level to accept the position at Liberty.

In a statement Witten released through the school and reported by ESPN he said:

“Faith. Family. Football.  In this next chapter, it is important to me to be the best father and husband I can be, while making a positive impact in the community and share the wisdom I've accumulated over the years to positively impact the next generation.”

Witten's children also reportedly attend the school.
