Fundraiser Scheduled for Bossier Sheriff’s Deputy Battling Cancer
The Bossier Sheriff's Office is holding a Fish Fry Benefit for a deputy battling cancer.
Sgt. Barrett Lovell is being treated at MD Anderson in Houston, but doesn't know how long he will be there. Doctors are saying at least a month.
Barrett works in Corrections, so the department is hosting the benefit Monday, Nov. 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. across the street from the Bossier Parish Courthouse.
Everyone is invited to come out, and Sheriff Julian Whittington recommends you make your ticket purchase in advance. Those are $10 each.
There's also a Facebook page called Barrett's Blessings, if you'd like to keep up with Sgt. Lovell's progress.
