The teams were pumped and you could tell from the minute these guys hit the field.

Parkway and Caddo Magnet are both undefeated in District play and this was going to be the showdown. Many of the guys play with each other in club soccer, so there are lots of friends battling each other on the pitch. The Panthers got off to a great start scoring 3 unanswered goals.

But Magnet was not going down that easy. Ric Linder helped get his team back in the game, scoring 2 goals in the 2nd half. Magnet later tied it up.

The game went into a 10 minute overtime period and Parkway's Michael Birmingham showed off his speed dribbling toward the goal and he got fouled in the box. He converted the PK to win the game for Parkway. It was a great night with lots of my "soccer Mom" friends, though I tried to remain neutral and enjoy some great soccer. I did wear all of my Byrd gear just to make sure no one thought I was taking sides.
