Sure it's the time of the year for heat and humidity, but it's also time for good things like fresh produce. And now, you can get any number of vegetables and other items each Saturday morning at the Haughton Farmer’s Market.

Vendor's booths are set up each Saturday til August 10th from 8 til 11am at Joe Delaney Park at the corner of West Jackson and South Maple.

'This was set up to be a one-stop shop in a family friendly environment,' said market organizer Caroline King. Different items are available each week and King said there’s always something or someone new.

“We want it to be mainly food items and the vendors are happy,” she added. “There is no charge to reserve a spot and they can sell what they want.”

Since opening last month, the farmers market has doubled in vendors and customers. Recent items included a variety of fruits and vegetables, homemade jellies and relishes and locally produced honey.

Vendor space is currently available at the Haughton Farmer’s Market. However, reservations are required in advance.
