A former Shreveport grocery store will be seen nationwide Thursday, October 30, on the GAC show "You Live in What?"

The show features unusual buildings -- like barns, gas stations and former missile silos -- that have been converted to homes.

The old Southern Avenue Grocery store in the Fairfield District was built in the early 1920s, and was bought in 2007 by Dowtown Development Authority Director Liz Swaine and Steve Culp, who converted it into their home.

In a news release, Swaine says they've added a huge man cave/workshop and a large outdoor "party garden." The HGTV network heard about the building and contacted her about appearing on the show. A video crew spent a day at the couple's home last November.

The show's producer tells Swaine the Shreveport building will be on the show right after a bank in Oregon and just before a conversion in France. The program airs at 10 p.m. our time tomorrow.
