About 100 The Home Depot store volunteers are partnering with Volunteers of America to improve housing for local veterans.

Tuesday, November 10, Team Depot will work with VOA North Louisiana to improve housing at the Veterans Transitional Living Facility. The 56-bed facility, located on the corner of Jordan and Highland, provides shelter, food and supportive services to help veterans transition from homelessness to independent living.

The effort in Shreveport is part of The Home Depot's 5th Annual Celebration of Service campaign, during which volunteers put their talents to work to transform more than 1,000 homes for veterans across the country from Sept. 11 to Veterans Day. This project will be completed by associates from nine area stores.

The team gathers at 8 tomorrow morning and will begin work shortly after that.
