With Father's Day coming up this Sunday and much of the focus this spring being on pay equality in Baton Rouge, we thought it would be a good opportunity to see how Louisiana ranked as a place to live and work for working dads. You might be surprised at the results.

WalletHub did the legwork and found that things aren't so easy for working dads in the great state of Louisiana. It turns out that after looking at a number of different factors, Louisiana is the 47th worst state to live and work for working dads. While child care costs are the lowest in the country, the quality isn't where it needs to be and we're 48th in the country with regards to that according to Diana Pope. We rank 49th when it comes to a man's life expectancy at birth in the bayou state and additionally we come in 40th with regard to the male uninsured rate. That might be because working men in Louisiana rank 48th when it comes to the highest average hours worked per day.

With Louisiana sitting in 47th in the three general categories of Work-Life Balance, Child Care and Health, we've got room to improve. Onward and upward Louisiana, onward and upward! But serious, since being a working dad in Louisiana isn't all sunshine and roses, you should spoil him this Sunday for Father's Day!
