Could a product called Soylent the food of the future? Its inventor, Rob Rhinehart, believes the substance can provide all of the calories and nutrition that a person needs, totally eliminating the need for solid food. And Rhinehart believes that in time Soylent can solve hunger problems around the world.

Right now, Soylent costs about $2 per serving, not bad in terms of what an American can pay, but much more than what poor people in developing countries can afford. But Rhinehart believes that once his substance is mass-produced, the cost would drop dramatically.
