It's National Barbie Day! [VIDEO]

It's National Barbie Day and we want to wish Barbie a Happy 57th birthday!!

Just like many little girls, I, of course, had quite a few Barbie dolls growing up. So it's only right that my little girls have some too. But Barbies are so different these days...their clothes alone can cause some controversy. Not to mention the fact that they now come in different sizes AND colors.

But here are some little known facts about the original Barbie that you might not know:

Mattel created the blonde bombshell and she made her debut at the American International Toy Fair in New York on March 9, 1959
Barbie's full name is Barbra Millicent Roberts
She is from a fictional town called Willows, Wisconsin
Her on and off boyfriend, Ken (Ken Carson) made his debut in 1961
Barbie loves animals and has had over 40 pets. She also collects cars and holds a pilot's license

Seems to me that Barbie has a good life and looks pretty darn good for age 57. Happy Birthday Barbie!
