Lake Charles, Louisiana - It's set to be another exciting weekend of events here in Southwest Louisiana! The popular Downtown at Sundown is set to kick off the 2026 series this Friday Night with a "Blast to the Past" night in Lake Charles.

Each week will have a different theme and style of music. There will be funk and soul, Cajun and zydeco, and even rock music later in the month. Every Friday will bring something new to enjoy.

UPDATE: Due to forecasted inclement weather, the City of Lake Charles has announced that the opening night of Downtown at Sundown, scheduled for Friday, May 1, will be relocated indoors to the Central School Arts and Humanities Center. The event will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the second floor in the Ben Mount Auditorium and surrounding areas.

The Downtown at Sundown concert series kicks off Friday, May 1, and will run for four straight Fridays through May 22. The event takes place in the 1000 block of Ryan Street, right in front of Historic City Hall and the Calcasieu Parish Courthouse.

This Friday Night (May 1st) will be INSIDE the Central School Arts and Humanities Center.

Each Friday night, the event runs from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and the best part is it’s completely free.

Downtown at Sundown Kicks off with Three Sheets and Louisiana Express

The first night, this Friday, is called “Blast to the Past.” Bands will play classic hits and throwback music that many people know and love. Three Sheets and Louisiana Express will be on the Downtown at Sundown stage this Friday Night.

There are a few rules to keep in mind. Pets, coolers, smoking, vaping, and outside alcohol are not allowed at the event. But chairs and blankets are welcome.
