🐊 KNGT 🐊 | Louisiana — Every time Friday the 13th rolls around,  I just start thinking about those old scary movies from the 80s. You know the ones I’m talking about.

Movies like Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th, those were the movies everybody was watching. Well… everybody except me. I ain’t gonna lie to y’all. I was way too chicken to watch those things. Soon as that creepy music started playing, I was out.

But thinking about those movies got me wondering about something a little closer to home. Right here in Louisiana. And it turns out… the Bayou State has a pretty dark history when it comes to serial killers.

According to data from DataPanda, Louisiana ranks tied for 6th in the country when it comes to serial killers, with six known killers connected to the state.

Now here’s the wild part. Texas, which is a whole lot bigger than Louisiana, comes in 3rd place with eight. So if you look at it per person… Louisiana might actually be near the top of that list.

Who are the most Notorious Serial Killers from Louisiana?

Danny Rolling, better known as the “Gainesville Ripper.” born in Shreveport and later became responsible for a string of brutal murders in Gainesville, Florida back in 1990.

Nathaniel Code, also born in Shreveport (must be in the water). Investigators say he killed at least eight people during a killing spree in the mid 1980s.

Now before everybody starts locking their doors and turning on every light in the house tonight, Please remember, alot of those murders happened decades ago. But if you are like me, tonight when you goto bed, check that door one more time just to make sure.

15 Craziest Laws in Louisiana

If you’ve lived in Louisiana long enough, you already know this state marches to its own beat. We fry just about everything, we’ll turn any weekend into a festival, and we have laws on the books that’ll make you stop mid-sentence and say, “Wait… that’s real?”

According to Kenny Habetz Injury Law, it sure is. Their Lafayette personal injury lawyers put together a list of the 15 craziest rules still floating around Louisiana law. Some of these will make you laugh. Some might make you scratch your head. And believe it or not, breaking a few of them could land you with a fine or even jail time.
