The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has already informed us that this Saturday, July 22, the outside lane of I-20 eastbound over the Red River in Bossier Parish will be closed for routine bridge inspection.

This lane closure is scheduled to take place from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Additionally, during these same hours, the on-ramp to I-20 westbound from Traffic Street in Bossier City will be closed for bridge routine inspection.

Then, the following day, this Sunday, July 23, from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, expect more delays when the outside lane of I-20 westbound over the Red River in Bossier Parish will be closed for routine bridge inspection.

And now we are learning that the DOTD is additionally advising motorists that also scheduled for this Sunday, July 23, the outside (right) lane of I-20 eastbound at Exit 33 (Haughton-Fillmore) in Bossier Parish will be closed.

This lane closure is scheduled to take place from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, and is necessary to allow the contractor to install roadway striping and rumble strips.

This work is related to the project to extend the off-ramp at this location.

Of course, with possible thunderstorms rolling into the area this weekend, this work could be postponed or time/day amended as the work will only be done, weather permitting.

And the DOTD reminds us that they appreciate our patience and reminds all motorists to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
