Bossier Arts Council Opens New Headquarters at Louisiana Boardwalk
The Bossier Arts Council (BAC) is celebrating a major victory today as it officially opens its brand-new headquarters at the Louisiana Boardwalk.
Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony courtesy of the Bossier Chamber of Commerce, the organization has moved into a space that feels like the perfect fit for its next chapter.
A Transparent Transition
This grand opening marks a triumphant turning point following a period of significant transition. On April 3rd, BAC leadership addressed the community with full transparency regarding their departure from their longtime home in the Old Municipal Building. The move followed a decision by the City of Bossier to terminate its cooperative agreement, resulting in the organization’s relocation from the East Bank District facility.
Throughout this "turning point," the community rallied behind the council, with supporters signing petitions and attending city meetings to advocate for the vital role the arts play in Bossier City. That community faith has been rewarded with a permanent new home at 355 Boardwalk Blvd.
Strengthening Operations
In addition to the new location, the BAC has been proactive in strengthening its foundation. Leadership recently addressed and rectified previous lapses in financial audit submissions, ensuring full compliance with the Louisiana Legislative Auditor's requirements. Furthermore, the board has identified a new Executive Director who will be introduced to the community shortly to lead these revamped operations.
Visit the New Space
To celebrate the move, the BAC revealed its latest gallery show, "We've Got Your BAC," featuring collective works from the community supporters who cheered them on through the transition. The new facility continues the BAC’s mission of providing:
Two distinct gallery spaces.
A dedicated theater space.
An event venue for community gatherings.
Decades of preserved local art history.
