Chubby Carrier to Kick Off Free Music Series at Caddo Common Park
Remember when our entire community banded together to bring free, world-class concerts right to the heart of the city?
Well, the wait is officially over because the Levitt AMP Shreveport Music Series is officially underway, and it is looking like an absolute vibe!
We are kicking things off with a literal party in the park this Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. It’s a Fais-do-do, and you are invited to Caddo Common Park to catch GRAMMY winner, Chubby Carrier and The Bayou Swamp Band. If you’ve never experienced their signature zydeco sound live, you are in for a treat. It’s the kind of music that gets everyone on their feet, so grab your lawn chairs, your neighbors, and your best dancing shoes.
To make things even sweeter, the Shreveport Regional Arts Council is looking out for the early birds. They’ll be giving away FREE hot dogs and bottled water to the first 100 attendees. Just make sure to check in at the info table when you arrive to snag your ticket.
This series isn't just about one night; it’s a full season featuring 10 family-friendly concerts spanning everything from Country to Smooth Jazz. Supported by the Levitt Family Foundation, these shows are all about strengthening our social fabric through the power of live music. In 2026 alone, the foundation is supporting over 900 concerts across the country, and we are so lucky to have that energy right here at 869 Texas Ave.
