Hopefully you aren't shocked to learn that the National Weather Service has issued another Heat Advisory for our area.

The real temperature is forecast to be just under 100 our heat index values the next several days could range from 105 to 109.

Quoting the old adage that perfectly suits us here in Louisiana, "It's not the heat. It's the damn heat."

We officially entered into the Hades portion of summer and for the next several weeks, these 'Heat Advisories' will become nearly laughable, as most of us, after hearing that the National Weather Service has issued one, will think to ourselves, "Well, it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out."

If this is your first summer here in the Shreveport area, yes, I'm sorry, it does get like this every year.

However, this year is already trending to be hotter than normal. In fact, according to data from the National Weather Service, last month was the 18th warmest June on record for Shreveport.

Of course, it's summer in Louisiana, so what did we expect? All we can do about it is stay hydrated and try to laugh it off.
