Anthony Rapp Announced For CyPhaCon 2026 in Lake Charles
CyPhaCon organizers have officially built one of their greatest celebrity guest lineups of all time. They really nailed it by confirming their final guest addition for 2026 when they announced that actor Anthony Rapp will appear in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The convention is scheduled to run from April 10th through April 12th at the Lake Charles Event Center.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet celebrities, shop from vendors, share their cosplay, and enjoy their favorite fandoms throughout the three-day pop culture weekend. The event brings plenty of stars to the region every year...drawing thousands of fans to the Lake Charles Event Center. But the 2026 guest lineup is...out of this world.
Star Trek Universe Expanding At Louisiana Convention
Rapp is widely recognized by modern sci-fi audiences for his groundbreaking work within the Star Trek franchise. He starred as Commander Paul Stamets on the series 'Star Trek: Discovery', across a total of five seasons.
The character of Stamets served as a brilliant astromycologist (did I spell that right?), who navigated the USS Discovery using an experimental spore drive. This unique propulsion network served as a foundational element of the show's narrative...allowing the vessel to travel instantaneously across the galaxy.
Beyond Star Trek To Dazed And Confused Legacies
Prior to his tenure in deep space, the Rapp established himself through multiple roles across several defining cult classic films. He portrayed intellectual teen Tony Olson in the critically acclaimed film 'Dazed and Confused', and later played Jacob Schultz in the college comedy 'Road Trip'.

Television historians will also note his contribution to the legendary paranormal drama series 'The X-Files' during its fifth season. Rapp assumed the role of technician Jeff Glaser in the monster-centric episode "Detour"...aiding federal agents in a dangerous forest investigation.
Broadway Legacy Cemented By Original Rent Role
Rapp is a legend in the global theatrical community. His extensive stage career includes defining roles in some of the biggest names in Broadway.
He famously originated the role of Mark Cohen in the revolutionary Broadway musical 'Rent'. He later reprised the iconic character for the major motion picture adaptation of the same name.
The acclaimed stage veteran also commanded audiences as Charlie Brown in the Broadway revival of 'You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown'. He continued his theatrical dominance by originating the role of Lucas in the acclaimed musical 'If/Then'. Performing on both the Broadway run and national tour.
