Caddo School Employees to Receive $1500 Stipend
On Tuesday, the Caddo Parish School Board approved a one-time $1,500 back-to-school stipend for all eligible employees. The stipend is funded by higher-than-expected local tax revenues.
What Caddo School Employees Are Eligible for the Stipend?
The stipend will be paid on September 12 to all employees who are currently with the district and eligible for benefits as of September 1. To receive the stipend, employees must also be actively working for the district on the payment date.
How This Stipend Compares to the State Stipend
This stipend is in addition to the one-time payment signed into law by Governor Jeff Landry. That legislation provides a $2,000 stipend for certified staff and a $1,000 stipend for support staff.
What District Leaders Are Saying
Superintendent Keith Burton and Board President Jasmine Green both emphasized that the stipend is a way to show appreciation for the hard work and dedication of district employees.
"Our teachers and staff give so much to our students every day, and we want them to know how much they are appreciated," said Burton. "As we begin a new school year, it's important that our employees feel supported because they are the ones who make the difference for children across Caddo Parish."
Green echoed this sentiment, stating, "This is a way for us to say thank you. We know our employees are the heart of this district, and this stipend is just one way to show how much we value them."
The Caddo Parish School District Is Hiring
The district is currently hiring teachers and support staff for the 2025-2026 school year. New hires by September 1 will be eligible for both the school board and state-approved stipends. You can view open positions and apply here.
