Denny’s Closing 150 Locations: Any in Louisiana?
If you're a fan of the Grand Slam Breakfast from Denny's, you might want to try to go enjoy one while you still have time. Denny's, owned by Advanitica, recently announced they are closing 150 of their restaurant locations across the country.
In addition to Denny's, Advantica owns several restaurant chains including Hardee’s, Quincy’s Family Steakhouse, El Pollo Loco, and the Canteen Corporation.
There are 1358 Denny's locations arcross the US, and more than 167 Denny's restaurants are outside the U.S., with more than half in Canada.
Advantica currently operate 201 Denny's locations in Texas, and 6 locations in Louisiana including Shreveport, (1) Bossier, (1), Greenwood, (1) Lake Charles, (1) Metarie, (1) and West Monroe (1) It was reported in 2002 that Advantica Restaurant Group officially changed it's name to Denny's Corp.
Denny's management states that the decision to close 150 locations were because the restaurants closing are older locations that are too old to remodel or are based in unprofitable locations.
Denny's announced they will be shuttering approximately 50 "lower-performing" locations by the end of this year, with the remaining 100 to be closed in 2025. They have not yet named which locations they will be closing.
