Shreveport Police Tackle Alarming Rise In Domestic Violence Cases
Over the past few days, Shreveport Police have made several arrests in connection with domestic violence cases.
On July 23, officers arrested Randeshia Rogers for domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, facing four counts due to the presence of four children during the alleged offense. Research consistently shows that children exposed to domestic violence are at a much higher risk of becoming victims or perpetrators of abuse in adulthood.
Also on July 23, Showanda Loyd was arrested and charged with one count of domestic abuse battery and one count of domestic abuse battery with a dangerous weapon, though no serious injuries were reported.
On July 22, Kevin Morse was apprehended and charged with domestic abuse battery – second offense, and simple assault, stemming from a prior domestic violence conviction.
Additionally, George Averett was arrested the same day, facing charges of domestic abuse battery, domestic abuse aggravated assault, and resisting an officer, with no serious injuries reported.
On July 21, Traderron Mills was arrested and charged with simple battery of a dating partner.
