Take a Look at New Play Area at Shreveport’s Duck Pond
SHREVEPORT, LA - The work is complete on brand new playground equipment at the Duck Pond Park on East Kings Highway.
SPAR posted this message on social media:
"We're thrilled to announce that the long-awaited upgrades at SPAR's Duck Pond are finally complete!"
There have been some delays because of weather and supply chain issues. The storm back in June also caused some damage at the park knocking down several trees. That mess had to be cleaned up before the work could get back underway.
But the park is back open and families are invited to come out and enjoy all the new playground equipment.
In addition to the duck pond, the park also features a picnic area, benches, and a 0.286 miles jogging/bike trail.
Once SPAR posted the message on Facebook, dozens of families flocked to the park to check it out in this beautiful weather.
Old, broken equipment was removed earlier this summer and now all the new equipment is in place.
SPAR is also making big changes at other parks across the city.
What Other Parks Are Getting Upgrades?
Plans are underway for big changes at Betty Virginia and Princess Parks. Old equipment will be removed and new play equipment will be installed.
Upgrades have already happened at these parks:
Anderson Island
Hattie Perry
Mamie Hicks
A.B. Palmer
