Experience Holiday Traditions At Shreveport ChristmasTree Farms
One of our favorite family traditions when our kids were younger was packing the family into the minivan, make sure there was a saw or an axe in the back, and then driving at least an hour out of town to 'the country' to pick out the family Christmas tree.
We would make the drive to my wife's grandmother's property, kids in tow, and traipse through the woods hunting the perfect tree. Not unlike the Griswolds. But ours are really very fond memories of family time together.
If you don't want to go to the local tent setup in a shopping center parking lot, but don't quite want the out in the woods experience, there is a great in-between option with local Christmas Tree farms that are either in, or right around Shreveport.
In more recent years, my wife and I have actually used one of these on the list and had a great experience. You walk through sections of different sized/priced trees, select the one you want, and one of their employees will go out on their 4-wheeler and cut it down for you, bring it up to the wrapping station, get it tied up for you, and off you go with a wonderful smelling treasure to take back to your home.
