Shreveport Fast Food Restaurant Moves About 100 Yards Down the Road

SHREVEPORT, LA - It seems like just about six months ago, construction started on a new business at the corner of Shreveport Barksdale and Dee Street in the Shreve City area. The crews moved at a very rapid speed.

KEEL News caught up with Metropolitan Planning Commission Director Alan Clarke and asked him what was going in at that location and he told us it was going to be a Wendy's fast food restaurant. They were planning to close the one right down the road next to the round building in Shreve City and move to the new location.

Why Move 100 Yards Away?

If you have ever been in the old Wendy's, it's a little hard to get in and of. There's no exit on Shreveport Barksdale right in front of the business. There is also a brand new McDonald's right across the street. So I assume the Wendy's owners wanted to also modernize the business in an effort to compete with the new swanky McDonald's.

These two fast food restaurants get a lot of business from Barksdale Air Force Base which is just over the bridge. Now both of these hamburger joints are right at the foot of the bridge.

What Will Happen with the Old Restaurant?

I don't have an answer to that, but that have removed almost all of the signage indicating it was a Wendy's. But they do have signs up directing customers to the new location with is just down the road.
