Saints vs. Giants on TV: Will the Game Be Shown in the Shreveport Market?
The New Orleans Saints might not be a great team in 2025, but that doesn't stop diehard fans from wanting to watch their team play. Even if those fans expect their team to lose every week this year, they're always HOPING they win. But if the game isn't being shown in their local market, they might not be able to see it if the Saints do win.
This week, Week 5 of the 2025 NFL Season, Saints fans in the Shreveport-Bossier TV market are in luck. Because they will get to see their team play.
What Channel Are The Saints On this Week?
According to 506Sports, the New Orleans Saints versus the New York Giants will be carried on CBS this week, in the 'early window'.
The 'early window' kickoff on an NFL Sunday is 1pm Eastern, which is 12pm Shreveport time. The "late window" traditionally starts between 3:05pm and 3:25pm Central time (which is Shreveport's time zone). Then you have your Sunday Night Football window, which starts around 8pm Eastern, or 7pm Shreveport time. The kickoff for Sunday Night is at, or around, 8:20pm Eastern, 7:20pm Shreveport time.
That means Saints fans can expect to catch the game Sunday at 12pm on CBS in Shreveport and Bossier City.
What To Watch For This Week
The Saints will host one of the most interesting stories in the NFL this week, the New York Giants.
Going into last week, the Giants were in the same boat the Saints were...just at the end of the sinking boat that's going into the water first. The Giants didn't have a win, like the Saints, but Giants Head Coach Brian Daboll took over that job in 2022. While Saints Head Coach Kellen Moore is in his first year. In other words, its expected that the Saints would be 0-3, while the Giants should have made progress under Daboll.

Which is why last week the Gaints decided to throw their rookie quarterback out there as the starter to see if it would spark anything. Former Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart did just that. Paired with rookie running back Cam Skattebo, the Gaints offense looked alive, and the team took down one of the best AFC teams in the Los Angeles Chargers.
Now the Giants are 1-3, coming into New Orleans to face the 0-4 Saints. Seeing if the young Giants core can keep it going against a hungry Saints defense will be interesting.
Also, watching to see if the Saints decide to try the same quarterback plan as the Giants will be interesting. The Saints also have a rookie QB sitting on the bench, and they might decide to try him. Although, current Saints starting QB Spencer Rattler has clearly not been the issue for the Saints this year.
Who Decides Which NFL Game Gets Shown In A Market?
Our local Shreveport TV broadcasters don't make these decisions. Which games get shown in what markets gets decided by the NFL and the major broadcasting partners. This means the broadcast decisions are being made at the highest levels within the NFL, ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, and the NFL Network. Once they make their decisions, it is pushed down to the local markets.
Sometimes, but very rarely, a local market can request the ability to change their coverage, and have the request granted. But that's not something that normally happens.
