Shreveport Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault With a Firearm
The Shreveport Police Department has made an arrest following a roommate dispute that escalated into a dangerous situation involving a handgun.
Yesterday, individuals arrived at the Shreveport Police Department’s West Substation, located on Monkhouse Drive, to report that a subject, identified as Lannon Ford, had threatened another individual with a firearm.
Officers learned the incident happened at a residence on Waters Place and stemmed from a disagreement related to household responsibilities. During the argument, Ford allegedly armed himself with a handgun and threatened the victim.
Witness statements corroborated the victim’s account. Responding officers quickly located Ford, took him into custody without incident, and seized the firearm involved.
Ford has been charged with one count of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.
From SPD:
"The Shreveport Police Department commends the swift response and professionalism of its patrol officers in safely resolving this situation and preventing potential violence.
As always, SPD reminds the public that disputes should never escalate to violence—especially when firearms are involved."
