The Shreveport Police Department is investigating an incident of abuse that happened recently at Youree Drive Middle School involving a former teacher’s aide.

Tramikal Davis was a teacher’s aide when employees of the Caddo Parish School Board saw behavior they found concerning enough to launch an investigation. Their intervention showed that Davis had a physical interaction with a special education student inside a classroom.

Davis was immediately fired, and the issue was referred to the Shreveport Police Department and the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) for investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Davis was arrested and charged with eight counts of simple battery of the infirm. He is accused of hitting a 13 year-old autistic student several times.
