Shreveport Man Arrested for Third-Degree Rape

Detectives with the Shreveport Police Department’s Sex Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Warrant Unit, has found and arrested a man in connection with a sexual assault that allegedly happened back in March.

Carderrek Johnson was arrested and charged with one count of third-degree rape. Under Louisiana law (Louisiana Revised Statute 14:43), third-degree rape is defined as non-consensual sexual intercourse under circumstances where the victim is incapable of resisting or understanding the nature of the act due to a mental or physical condition, or where the act is committed without the victim's lawful consent.

SPD is still investigating this case. No further details have been released to protect the alleged victim and the privacy of those involved.
