During the altercation, the female, later identified as 46-year-old Rhonda Steen, assaulted the officer. Despite the officer's attempt to deploy a Taser for subduing purposes, Steen managed to disarm the officer of the Taser, escalating the situation.

Fortunately, a local security guard was present in the area intervening swiftly. The guard intervened by shooting Steen in the leg, effectively neutralizing the threat and preventing further harm to the officer.

As a result of the altercation, the female officer sustained head injuries and received immediate medical attention. Rhonda Steen was subsequently transported to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Shreveport Police Department extends its deepest gratitude to the courageous actions of the security guard, whose swift intervention undoubtedly prevented a potentially more serious outcome.

Suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
