
Shreveport Police Arrest Bossier Man for February Murder
Shreveport Police have caught up with a suspect who they think murdered a man on Stoner Avenue back in February.
After a lengthy and intense investigation SPD were able to pin-down Melvin Washington as the person who they think murdered a 41 year-old man. Shreveport Police's Violent Crime Unit teamed up with the Bossier Police Department to get a search warrant on Washington's address in Bossier.
Police showed up in force and were able to arrest Washington when the executed the warrant on his home. Washington has been charged with second-degree murder.
Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith had this to say about the arrest:
"This is an outstanding job by SPD detectives, and we are thankful for the support of the Bossier City Police Department in apprehending another violent criminal and removing them from our streets,".
Looks like high praise is in order for all the departments involved in this arrest. SPD, with the cooperation of BCPD were able to handle this arrest with nobody getting hurt.
