
Shreveport PD Catch Felon with Firearm in Stolen Car

On May 20th, 2023, Shreveport Police Patrol Officers responded to the 700 block of Tecumseh Trial for a stolen vehicle. On arrival, officers found that the victim was tracking a Silver Kia that had been stolen. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, however, the occupants fled on foot.
Daniel Darnell (8/10/2004) and Tristian Lewis (8/10/2004) were eventually captured by officers.
Darnell was found to be armed with a firearm. A juvenile female was also detained as a passenger in the stolen vehicle. Shreveport Police Property Crime Detectives responded to the scene.
Further investigation into the matter revealed that Darnell was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to being a convicted felon for prior felony offenses.
The firearm and stolen vehicles were seized by the officers and Darnell was arrested for one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, Resisting, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, and one count of theft of a motor vehicle.
Tristian Lewis was charged with one count of Theft of a Motor Vehicle and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
