Shreveport Hit Record High Heat, Could Record Lows Be On The Way?
SHREVEPORT, LA - Weather is changing dramatically across north Louisiana over the next two days. The Monday high of 88 degrees broke a record we set way back in 1986 when it climbed to 87 degrees on February 26.
Shreveport Could Break More Records?
The record high for today is 85 and that record has been in place since 1918.
Ironically the hottest February 28th on record was last year when we hit 88 degrees. So we have had a couple of years of very warm weather in February.

But this heat is on the way out. Temps will dip into the mid 40's on Wednesday and Thursday.
Is Rain on the Way?
Clouds are moving in on Wednesday and our high temperature will only reach 62 degrees. Thursday's projected high is 56 and we might climb to 69 on Friday. But showers are on the way for Thursday and Friday.
We will kick off March with some more warm days. High temps Saturday through Monday will be close to 80 degrees.
When Does Spring Begin?
In 2024, the official first day of spring is Tuesday, March 19. This date marks the vernal equinox which happens two times during the year when "the Sun is exactly above the Equator and day and night are of equal length."
