Shreveport Man Arrested in Attempted Shooting Over a Microwave

We all have disagreements within the family. This guy took it to a completely different level when he attempted to shoot a relative over using the microwave!

On July 31st, 2023, at 4:05 p.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a call of an armed person in the 4800 block of Kennedy Drive. Responding officers located an armed suspect identified as Fred Jones (11-24-47).

The responding officers found that Jones had attempted to shoot a male relative after an argument, however, the gun reportedly malfunctioned. The argument allegedly was centered around a disagreement about using the microwave.

Jones was arrested by patrol officers and charged with one count of Attempted Second-Degree Murder. The victim was uninjured in this incident.

We must remind that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
