Shreveport Police Investigating Fatal Shooting on Thurgood Circle

The Shreveport Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Thurgood Circle.

Responding officers located a 26 year-old man suffering from several gunshot wounds. A woman was also found with a gunshot wound to the leg. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The investigation indicates that the woman’s romantic partner had arrived at the home shortly before her former boyfriend came to the property and allegedly attempted to force his way inside the home. Investigators were told that the former boyfriend kicked in the front door, entered the residence and began searching for the other man.

During the fiasco, the man who was already inside the residence reportedly fired several shots at the man who had forced his way inside, resulting in his death. Investigators currently believe the woman was unintentionally shot during the exchange of gunfire.

No charges have been filed at this time.
