Shreveport Man Arrested for Domestic Stabbing in Front of a Child
The Shreveport Police Department has arrested a man following a violent domestic incident that left a woman hospitalized with multiple stab wounds.
Officers learned that 38 year-old Kenyon Bush and the victim had been involved in a relationship for around one year. An argument broke out, and the victim told her teenage daughter to contact police.
Bush left the home, but later climbed back inside through a bedroom window. The victim’s daughter found Bush in a spare bedroom armed with a pocketknife.
SPD Investigators say Bush forced both the victim and her daughter into a bedroom before stabbing the victim multiple times in her abdomen and back. The juvenile managed to escape the room and opened the front door for Officers who were waiting outside.
The victim was taken to Ochsner LSU Health with potentially life-threatening injuries but was later reported to be in stable condition.
Bush was arrested and subsequently admitted to stabbing the victim. Following medical treatment, he was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on a charge of Domestic Abuse Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
From SPD:
"The Shreveport Police Department reminds the public that jealousy, anger, and relationship disputes are never excuses for violence.
This incident could have ended in tragedy. Thankfully, a courageous young girl was able to get help when it mattered most."
