Former Southwood High School Band Director Lennard Holden is facing federal prosecution. Holden was arrested following an indictment returned by a grand jury in Shreveport. Federal authorities arrested the 50-year-old on October 20th, 2026...just weeks after the official indictment was handed down. He has been arrested on charges of Production of Child Sexual Abuse Material and Possession of Child Pornography, which has now brought the ongoing federal investigation into the public.

Court records outline severe allegations against the former Shreveport educator. Federal prosecutors say Holden directed a minor victim to engage in explicit conduct to generate video recordings, while also knowingly possessing explicit visual materials involving minors.

FBI Seeks Additional Victims from Southwood High School Band Program

The central focus of the case is Holden's position of authority at Southwood High School. Holden directed the school band program for 15 years, giving him daily access to local students in Shreveport. Holden held the position at the school from 2011 through 2026.

That extensive timeline has prompted the FBI New Orleans Field Office to launch a broader reach for information...seeking to identify potential additional victims who were members of the Southwood High School band program. Federal investigators are asking parents, former band members, and Shreveport residents with relevant knowledge, to submit details directly through this dedicated FBI victim portal.

Federal Prison Penalties for Child Exploitation Charges

The penalties associated with these federal charges carry heavy prison terms upon conviction. A conviction on all counts triggers a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in a federal penitentiary, with maximum penalties extending up to 30 years behind bars. Which is per offense, so the total sentence could be much longer.

Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Louisiana are moving the case forward through Project Safe Childhood. Under federal law, Holden remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
