Six Flags Over Texas Cashless: New Payment Policy Announced
ARLINGTON, TX - If you love going to big theme parks, one of the best is just a few hours drive from Shreveport. Six Flags Over Texas is making some changes this year that you will want to know about.
The Arlington, Texas theme park is no longer accepting cash. If you only have cash, you will be able to find kiosks at the park where you can purchase a pre-paid debit card that you can use to make purchases. All of the spots inside the park are now cash-free. This includes retail outlets, restaurants, games and parking toll booths. You even have to use a card to buy your tickets.
Six Flags Also Has New Chaperone Policy
Six Flags is also putting a chaperone policy in place. All guests ages 15 and under must have a chaperon to be in the park after 4pm. Teens must now have someone with them who is at least 21 or older.
Those chaperones will have to be able to show proof of age, if requested. And chaperones are limited to 10 young people. So large groups will have to have multiple chaperones.
Guests are also encouraged to buy your tickets and parking passes ahead of time at online outlets.
The park hopes these changes will help ensure a positive, safe, and fun environment for generations to come.
The Six Flag website says this new policy was put in place because:
Over the past few years, there have been increasing incidents of unruly and inappropriate behavior at amusement parks and other major entertainment venues. This policy is being put in place to ensure that all guests have the best time ever and leave happy and eager to visit again.
How Much Are Six Flags Tickets?
The cheapest ticket for a one day pass is $35, but you can buy a $55 pass which includes admission for a day and a meal, a drink and a snack.
Season passes are now being offered for $59 dollars, but there are some blackout dates in September and October for these passes. But if you go more than once during the summer, this is money well spent because it also includes parking for each visit.
Six Flags opens for the season this weekend. The park will be open on Friday evenings and Saturdays and Sundays until the last week in May when the park will be open 7 days a week.
